Abram Arhipov was born in the Egorovo village of the Ryazan region. Between the 1877-1883 and the 1886-1888 studied at The Moscow College of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Between the 1984-1886 studied at The Imperial Academy of Fine Arts.
A.Arhipov was the member of the the Itinerants group between the 1891-1902. Became the academician in 1898. Became the active member of The Academy of Fine Arts in 1916.
The leading impressionist, social realist of the late XIX - early XX centuries. The paintings of Abram Arhipov can be found in The State Tretyakov Gallery and The State Russian Museum.
