Revaz Kwaratskhelia was born in Sukhumi, Georgia, in January of 1975. It was in his early childhood that he got the first impressions of the art of painting. The house he was born into was filled up with pictures. Besides, his father encouraged Revaz's interest in art.

Entered the Art College in Sukhumi in 1990. The three years of studies were filled with a vigorous interest in all things connected with contemporary art, both in the West and in Sukhumi proper, with its busy artistic life. He got inspired by the picturesque views of his native town on the Black Sea coast and there appeared a number of pictures presenting its different sites. According to the painter that was the time which has formed his artistic outlook and sense of color.

Took part in exhibitions in Sukhumi, Yekaterinburg, Saint-Petersburg, Ireland, Italy, the Great Britain, the USA and the Czech Republic since 1990.

In his art the painter adheres to object painting which realizes his creative ideas. The world of his paintings is a specific reality, combining an original fantasy with the warm southern color scheme.

One can see the paintings by Revaz Kwaratskhelia in private collections and galleries of Russia, Sweden, the USA, Japan, Tunisia, Germany, the Great Britain and other countries.
